If you possess the training or skills necessary to work in the Plumbing or Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration industry, the Local 38 would like to talk to you.
We are looking for qualified workers to join the best labor force in the industry.
We require documented work experience and a valid California driver’s license.
You may be asked to take a placement test. If you’re a skilled journeyman, there’s a place for you with one of our union contractors. If you test below journey level, there may be a place for you in our apprenticeship program.

Local 38 is part of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, known as the UA. Chartered in 1947, Local 38 currently represents approximately 2,500 members in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties. Local 38 has a proud history of struggle, winning some of the best wages, working conditions and benefits in the UA and throughout the entire labor movement.
